2. Add in parenthesis the words (SILENCE) in at least one part of your speech

1. Try using different volumes to say something important. 

The Right EMphasis 

Try practicing emphasis with these sentences. Where should the emphasis go?
    I never said he stole the money. (meaning: I didn’t say it; someone else said it!)
    I never said he stole the money. (meaning: I never said it; I did not!)
    I never said he stole the money. (meaning: I never said he stole it; I suggested it.)
    I never said he stole the money. (meaning: I didn’t mean him; I meant someone else.)
    I never said he stole the money. (meaning: I didn’t say he stole it; I said he borrowed it!)
    I never said he stole the money. (meaning: not the special money; other money.)
I never said he stole the money. (meaning: he didn’t steal the money; he may have stolen the jewels.)

Select one of the following speeches, talks or stories:

1. Notice the body language and vocal tools.
2. Pick a minute of the speech and find the transcript online. 
3. Try to mimic the speaker by choosing one or two of the vocal tools, then present it to the class.
